THE GREAT CITADEL OF LEARNING; THE JOURNEY SO FARWe give glory to the Almighty God for always being our sufficiency since the inception of this great college. Both through thick and thin, He has been our present help in time of need. It has been a journey that started with tentative steps perhaps, but one that has taken us to remarkable heights. We have encountered some trials and tribulations along the way, shouldered on, and came out stronger. We have experienced exceptional moments, magical moments, and created memories that will be fondly remembered in the years ahead. Henry Ford wisely said, "Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success." As we look back over the last 20 years, certainly there was a beginning, and thankfully there was also progress and yes; undeniable we have been successful but let's begin where all good stories begin-at the beginning.
THE BEGINNINGIt all started on the 2nd October, 2005 as this non-profit making and missionary organization was founded. Its establishment became necessary in the interest of the proprietors to provide sound academic, moral, and spiritual upbringing to the students as well as preparing them for future challenges.The college started with the following staffs in 2005: Professor S.O. Odeyemi, G.O Awosanya, Ayodele Niyi, Anighoro Friday, Snr. Evangelist Obadia, Femi Hammed, E.A. Shittu, Late A.C. Agbajor, Mrs. Ojewole and Martins Olushola (The present manager later joined the crew in 2009). The College Junior School (JSS) became approved by the State Ministry of Education, Science and technology in 2009, the year the school manager Mr. Olushola Martins joined the school in which year we wrote our first JSCE (BECE) 2010 whit 90% success. Thereafter the school became upgraded to a Senior School Standard (SSS) in 2011 by the same body. This was followed by the recognition by NECO and WAEC in 2012 after series of visits and inspections of the school's facilities, the competency and qualifications of the teachers. Mr. Sola Olaosebikan joined the school at this period followed by Mrs. Oladimeji, Mrs. Folorunsho and Mrs. Fasoyiro in 2013.
THE PRESENT Much appreciation goes to the inestimable altruistic support, motivation and counselling enjoyed from the School Director, Professor S.O. OdeyemiWe also appreciate the effort of our loving and caring mother Y.A. Odeyemi, Dr Gbenga Odeyemi and all the loving and caring biological children of the Proprietor. The school that started with one block of six rooms have now become a gigantic edifice with well-equipped modern seats, Computers with air condition, trade subjects’ machines for sewing, music room with instruments, Art studio, Library, sick-bay, Light of God Hall, Sport field and a well equipped Science Laboratory. Gratitude to the board of Directors. We are so blessed with wonderful parents and dedicated Staff that are ever supportive and cooperative in every facet .Our prayers are that you live in abundance, eat the bountiful harvest of your labor and enjoy long life and divine health with God's abundant blessing.
THE FUTUREWe envision a future of the college ,where all teaching and learning processes will become more ICT based ; where the School will extensively use online tools, platforms, and technologies like virtual and augmented reality ; where Students take a more central role in their education, leading their own learning journey ; a move away from traditional grades towards ongoing, feedback-oriented evaluations and assessments will certify knowledge, skills, and attitudes in a more immediate and integrated way.
The Director's Speech in the maiden magazine "All of us left to ourselves are slaves to sin, even when we don't admit it or won't recognize it. God comes into the human predicament with his gift of Grace. Grace means we receive good things from God not because of any human merit but only by His favor to undeserving people. Already, in the Garden of Eden, God came looking for Adam and Eve in order to present a message of hope. Celestial College is a design of God through this grace to liberate this generation and the future children from the limitations of the secular education which rendered educational system world over a mere academic exercise.I therefore enjoined you to take advantage of this grace and utilize it to the fullest. I also use the opportunity to thank and appreciate the Principal, the Vice principals, the head of departments, the teachers and non-academic staff, the Security officers of the college for the great success and achievement of this college today.”The future is bright for the school because the Alumni from 2009, to the present are now coming together to lift the school up. The school have produced doctors, engineers, lawyers, medical doctors, teachers, artists, pharmacists and so on.The directors and the proprietors have a great Vision and future for this school one of which is a university for this school which will be accomplished by the grace of God when the proprietress is still alive. Our future is bright because on Christ the rock we stand.
